Identification Notes:
Clavariadelphus pistillaris has fruitbodies that are smooth to be wrikled, and as the name implied, broadly club-shaped. The surface is yellowish to ocher when young, becoming brown to red-brown or purplish brown with age, staining dark purple when bruised. The stem is indistinct, but whitish at the base.
